Ryan James: The Portfolio

About me

Hey, my name is Ryan.

I'm a 26 year old software developer from Melbourne Australia, and have been studying game development for the past few years, the latest being at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) at their Melbourne campus.

I'm currently working for a company called Elumina Group, who are based in Chirnside Park, Australia, working on their Worksafe claims and injury management system called Quicksafe.

I enjoy programming, the ability to apply logic and mathematics to solve various problems that arise, and I especially enjoy game development due to being able to see what I'm constructing come to life.

Memory

Project started 14/07/2014 and completed on 03/11/2014.

Memory is a Choose Your Own Adventure game, built as the final project for Year 2 at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, using Unreal Engine 4.

Quicksafe

Project started 06/11/2009 and is currently ongoing.

Quicksafe is a workcover claim and injury management system.
I worked on all aspects of the system, from the development of payment calculators to ensure injured workers got exactly what they are required, activity and task management systems to risk assessment and report generation systems.

Swingers

Project started 16/06/2014 and completed on 24/06/2014.

This was a 2nd year group project, to do with quick build prototypes.
This was done in a group of 3 artists and 2 programmers.

Swingers is a one-button game, where the player aims to get the furthest they can, while only being able to use the space key.
